The Story Behind The Sparkle

Hi, I’m Lannette — a musical theatre performer, actor, and proud co-founder of Imagine This! Performing exhilarates me, and that sparkle shines in everything I create. Through Imagine This, I’m honoured to help young performers discover their own sparkle while growing in confidence, creativity, and musical theatre joy.

I grew up in Victoria, BC, singing and storytelling as soon as I could twirl across a stage. My first acting role came in grade 2 as Mrs. Claus, and I was hooked. My childhood was filled with song & dance, musicals and piano recitals. After earning my Bachelor of Arts from UBC, I stayed in Vancouver to pursue musical theatre on both community and professional stages - most memorable musicals include Miss Saigon (Arts Club), Flower Drum Song (VACT), and The King and I (TUTS). I also expanded my creative work into film and commercials. Today, I’m proud to call Port Moody home, supported in all my adventures by my wonderful husband and son.

Beyond the stage, I’m the soprano of Vancouver’s a cappella quintet, ReVerve, where I get to weave harmonies at everything from cozy theatre shows to anthem performances for the Whitecaps, Canadians, and Giants — which keeps my voice lifted and my spirit sparkling. Offstage, you’ll likely find me hunting for the best chocolate croissant, savouring ice cream at Rocky Point, enjoying movie nights with my family, or mindlessly humming show tunes. Around here, I’m affectionately known as The Sparkle — and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
